    Clinical Social Worker/Owner

Alissa Rubin is the founder and owner of Morph Counseling, bringing nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field. Since 2007, Alissa has dedicated her career to supporting individuals across diverse settings, from residential substance use recovery and domestic violence safe houses to emergency services, inpatient care, and community-based programs. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston University (2017) and is dually licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Alissa’s professional journey spans PHP and IOP programs, outpatient therapy, and intensive behavioral group homes, working with clients across the lifespan—from children to older adults—in individual, couple, and family therapy. She has received specialized training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), harm reduction, and mindfulness, among other modalities. While experienced in a wide range of clinical presentations, her passion lies in working with anxiety disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorders, and trauma.

In addition to clinical work, Alissa has held leadership roles in intensive behavioral adult group homes and adolescent partial hospitalization programs, where she has been instrumental in risk management and program development.

Outside of her professional life, Alissa enjoys spending time with her son and caring for her 11+ reptiles, amphibians, and her beloved French bulldog, Remy. She has a long-term goal of incorporating animal-assisted interventions into her practice.

  • Shane Neils, MA

    Therapist

    Accepting clients for waitlist

Shane is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with extensive experience working with both adolescents and adults in diverse settings. His background includes facilitating group therapy with adolescents using animal-assisted interventions and working in the Department of Corrections, where he supported adults facing significant mental health challenges. These experiences have provided him with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health across different populations.

Shane was drawn to the field of therapy after recognizing the lack of mental health awareness surrounding adolescents, particularly in response to the growing crisis of school shootings and youth violence. Additionally, he developed a strong passion for helping adults navigate the post-pandemic mental health crisis, supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. He specializes in substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, men’s issues, sex and relationships, mood disorders, and trauma.

Taking a collaborative and individualized approach, Shane incorporates evidence-based modalities such as narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing. By integrating these techniques, he creates a therapeutic environment that fosters self-exploration, resilience, and meaningful change.

Outside of his work as a therapist, Shane finds joy and balance in nature, enjoying hiking, camping, and rock climbing. He is also passionate about woodworking, crafting furniture, and handmade trinkets that reflect his love for creativity and craftsmanship.

  • Taylor Bridges, LCSW

    Therapist

To schedule with Taylor, fill out referral at end of page

Taylor is an empathetic and devoted therapist who specializes in working with adolescents and transitional age individuals with complex and challenging mental health difficulties. She has experience working as a Therapeutic Mentor out in the community and as a Family Therapist in the home, addressing life skills, family dynamics, social skills, and trauma. Her other experiences include working in the Department of Corrections with incarcerated men with complicated and severe mental health challenges, as well as providing animal assisted group therapy to adolescents experiencing mental health crises.

Like many others, Taylor struggled with her own mental health challenges as a teenager. Having her own experiences and also witnessing and supporting those around her who were also struggling, led her to find a passion in helping others take control of their own lives and create meaningful and lasting positive changes. She does this by utilizing a person-centered approach and using evidenced-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), art therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She specializes in anxiety and depression disorders, peer and social relationships, and self-harm and suicidality.

When not at work, Taylor enjoys engaging in nature, caring for her home plants and hiking. She is also an excellent baker, loving to make cookies, cakes, and other sugary desserts. Other interests include reading, art, cooking, and playing with her puppy, Jug.

  • LJ Urban, MA

    Therapist

To schedule with LJ, fill out referral at end of page

LJ is a dedicated and candid therapist practiced in using creative, evidence-based approaches including narrative and expressive therapies, CBT, and ACT, with a focus on community connection, inner strength work, and play-based approaches.

LJ walks with clients through the landscapes of their stories, helping them to explore existing skills and barriers in their worlds while crafting creative tools to tackle the problems they find there. LJ enjoys working with adults and adolescents who are navigating life alongside complex trauma, anger, anxiety, and psychosis. This includes clients who have faced challenging life experiences including chronic stress, working class issues, men's issues, attachment disruption, and interpersonal trauma.

Outside of office time, LJ applies these same approaches to examine the world: driving backroads, admiring details of architecture, and embodying expression through drumming, painting, and climbing over rocks. LJ's passion for play and novelty appears through an admiration for body-mind learning and a drive for personal growth.

  • Michele Rogers, MSW, LCSW

    Therapist

To schedule with Michele, fill out referral at end of page

Michele is a neurodivergent therapist who brings authenticity, creativity, and compassion into her work with clients. Before becoming a clinical social worker, Michele spent six years supporting children and families in the public school system, where she developed a deep commitment to advocacy, accessibility, and trauma-informed care. She now works with adults in outpatient and higher levels of care, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, and bipolar disorder. In addition to her clinical training, Michele draws from her own lived experience with mental health diagnoses, which deepens her empathy and enhances her commitment to providing affirming, nonjudgmental care.

Michele takes an integrative, client-centered approach to therapy, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, and self-compassion practices. She meets clients where they are, helping them develop insight, regulate emotions, and reconnect with their values. Michele especially enjoys working with neurodivergent individuals.

She also brings humor and a healthy dose of “weirdness” into the therapy space—because being human is messy, and embracing our quirks can be a powerful path to self-acceptance and connection. Michele believes that when clients are free to show up as their full selves—awkward moments, random tangents, silly metaphors and all—true healing can take root. She is passionate about walking alongside clients who may feel misunderstood, stuck, or overwhelmed—offering not just clinical tools, but also genuine connection and hope.

Outside the therapy room, Michele lives in a tiny house nestled in nature, where she enjoys hiking, reading, cross-stitching, and exploring the outdoors. A lifelong gamer, she finds meaning in the creativity, challenge, and connection that games offer. Michele also loves traveling the world—especially when it involves scenic trails and discovering the tastiest vegetarian meals. She is a devoted parent and advocate, bringing warmth, humor, and purpose into every aspect of her life. To schedule an appointment with Michele, please fill out an inquiry form—she looks forward to supporting you on your journey.

How did we choose “Morph” Counseling for a name?

In the reptile community, a morph refers to a genetic variation that enhances color, personality traits, and unique characteristics. As a passionate reptile enthusiast, our founder saw a powerful metaphor in this concept—just as reptiles undergo transformations to bring out their most vibrant and distinct traits, therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery that allows individuals to become the best versions of themselves.

At Morph Counseling, there are no genetic modifications—but through self-exploration, skill-building, and meaningful change, we support each person in developing their strengths, overcoming challenges, and embracing their unique qualities.

What are your unique traits? What makes you stand out? Therapy is about uncovering and enhancing what already exists within you. Let’s work together to help you evolve into your best self.

Do you have any unique hobbies or passions? We'd love to hear about them!

Our Mission Statement
